1. Avoid cycling or excessive exercise for several hours. Ideally rest by sitting in a chair and use an extra pillow for the first night.
  2. Do not drink anything alcoholic or smoke for the first 24 h.
  3. Try not to disturb the socket with your tongue, by eating food on that side, or by vigorous rins This will delay the healing process.
  4. A small amount of bleeding is normal after an extraction.
  5. If excessive bleeding occurs roll up a clean cotton handkerchief (do not use paper tissues) and bite firmly down on it for 15 minutes whilst sitting upright. Contact us if the bleeding does not stop within 2 h.
  6. After 24 h. rinse your mouth gently with a warm salty water (level teaspoon of salt to a cup of water} and continue after meals and before bed for seven days.
  7. You may feel the sharp edge of a socket with your tongue and occasionally small fragments of bone may work their way out. This is normal.
  8. It is not unusual to experience swelling or discomfort for a few days. However, if pain, swelling or bleeding persists, contact us
  9. The numbness will last for 2-4 h. so take care not to bite your tongue, lip or cheek. Keep small children under observation until all the numbness has gone
  10. Make sure that you eat and drink, but something lukewarm and soft, avoid hard chewy food.
